FCI acquires new property in Welling, Kent

Freedom Centre International, after 11 years of successfully working within the Southwark community has acquired a new home in Welling Kent for the church. The property, which was a 1930 cinema hall and converted into a Mecca Bingo Hall, was purchased by the charity on a freehold. FCI is looking to replicate its successful achievements in working with the community in Southwark in the London Borough of Bexley. Speaking to the FCI press office after announcing the purchase to the church, Dr Shadrach Ofosuware the head pastor of FCI said he was thankful to God that in the midst of worldwide financial crisis, a church that started with a membership of 30 people and an average income of £500 per week 11 years ago could grow to a point where they could comfortably afford a property of such cost. Dr Shadrach thanked first the trustees of the ministry for their good governance and management style, then the members of the church whose financial support has made this possible. Dr Shadrach said after the church being turned down unfairly by major high street banks, God gave the church favour with Kingdom Bank, a UK based Christian bank, to offer funding for part of the mortgage. Dr Shadrach went further to urge all Christian organisations to bank with Kingdom Bank. On the projects scheduled for the new FCI complex, Dr Shadrach said as the ministry’s mission is Raising Overcomers and Setting Captives Free, that mandate will be carried over to Welling. The church will quickly look at forging relations with the local authority as it did in Peckham and look for ways to assist with the social needs of the area. On what will happen to the property in Peckham, Dr Shadrach said “we will make the Peckham facility available to the community groups and organisations to use whilst Temple College London uses the building for its various courses”.
